One of the products of recent years has concerned me most was the GPS NAVSAT promoted by the company NavSat, first because it is a product of national seal and obviously to be directed to Costa Rica it seems good to know its advantages but also their problems, being a rare first version would not have them.I evaluate the equipment sold in the package known as Navigator, I went and bought the Toyota in the amount of 149 000 colones ($300), with these $75 of the traffic service.
From the packaging equipment is elegant and well designed, and although originally thought that it was a Garmin Nuvi, I was disappointed to see that it was a Chinese model NV101 GPS. Well, it need not be as bad as the team has its benefits later commented. Inside the box is the GPS, two antennas (which I did not understand that if you do the same), a USB cable, suction cup base and car charger along with a manual rather brief.The GPS, despite being Chinese, it is quite solid and well armed, but has a microsd reader and a USB connector and the antenna.
Starting the GPS NAVSAT
The GPS is easy to install, the cup that provides adheres well to the windshield, except that the GPS is a little hard to free itself from the base. An advantage that it gets very quickly satellite signal if it is placed at the center but not above, but is still very fast if compared with a cell phone, even indoors near a window we could get the signal.The NV101 is an unknown trade, possibly sold only NAVSAT, brings a software interface IGO, a version known as AMIGO, simple but functional.Within the trial period we use for 600 km or so, during which we presented some problems but overall it was functional. The interface is simple and tactile, a little hard at times but you can get used to it.

Use a software called IGO AMIGO (http://www.navngo.com), simple and functional, it lacks some functions in navigation and the expected time of arrival and did not see any lane assistant of ways, but research it seems that if I have, but the map does not bring integrated.Within its normal functions, like searching points, which the company says has 30 000 point, and changes in the route (shorter, easier, faster), as well as search nearby points on the road or by city.The GPS has a screen 4.3 "inches wide and useful. But no audio output, no FM transmitter to use the car radio or Bluetooth, obviously the price has an impact on this lack of features.

We believe that is obviously more focused on San Jose, where there are more points, but really are lacking and there is little real information.According to the company update the data between 3 and 4 months, however could not access the page that advertise on www.naviextras.com and now there is no updated maps. At the time of purchase is a year of updates, but the company is not clarified as we expand this process.
TMC Traffic System
The traffic system at a cost of around $70 anually, works only in San Jose and some places as Perez Zeledon. The service is very efficient, sometimes with a slight delay but it is an excellent tool to avoid traffic jams or dams. Get the information fast and within minutes you can view traffic in Costa Rica in seconds.

Pros It is almost the only product in Costa Rica for GPS, the company also offers EzFind for other Garmin GPS. It is a solution to avoid prey Cool. The GPS is quick to detect the signal and run, but makes some errors for the accuracy and data.
Cons Missing data of sites and number of sites. Still missing routes, care must be taken to the instructions of the GPS because it has no routes or routes which can not travel more than a 4x4. No Bluetooth audio output or because the speaker output is barely audible. GPS battery lasts very little.

GPS en Costa Rica por NavSat

It is an excellent product but it is far from perfect, we would have liked a different brand of GPS, though the included fully compliant with the functions. Definitely where failure is that when a new product data missing streets and businesses. It is an excellent guide but can not fully considered reliable, although it is better to ask on foot or using a map. Lack of track assistant roundabouts and exits primarily for road and despite evidence that GPS have it are not included in the map. Good product but like everything new deals settings.
